Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I REMOVE FACE PAINTS - All paints are water based and easily removed with warm soapy water, never use wipes as the alcohol content can cause the colour to stain.  For darker colours you may have to repeat the wash.  For removing from clothes, soak overnight in COLD water and wash with detergeant the next day.

ARE THEY SAFE - I only use paints that comply with EU standards.  I test them on myself frequently, I have sensitve skin and they have never reacted. They have anti-bacterial agents and are specifically designed for face painting. We can provide a list of ingredients upon request if you are concerned. Face paints are not recommended for children under 2 years.  Please read my Health & Safety regulations for more information.

WHAT IS LIQUID BLING - This is a product that allows me to add glitter detail in my designs.  It is made from cosmetic glitter and an aloe gel base. Once dry (10mins) it stays untill it's washed off with warm soapy water.  Can be applied anywhere on the face and body.

HOW MANY FACES CAN YOU PAINT - Generally I can paint 10-12 faces in 1 hour, this is based on a 3-5 min design.  These are for childrens parties and based on designs that I know instantly, they can be varied with different colours and glitters.  The more detail and work in a design, the longer it takes.  Face painters work on an hourly basis and a recommended time slot for childrens parties is usually 2 hours.

WHY BOOK A PROFESSIONAL WHEN I CAN GET MY FRIEND - Quite often friends will opt-in to help you out at your event saying that they can do the face painting for free. With all the best will in the world they may be your friend or acquaintance, but can they do competent face painting? You may trust them with your own child but can you rely on them to handle other peoples children safely.  By using a professional face painter you can be rest assured they will know how to handle any situation that can arise for instance:

  • contagious skin conditions, queues, decisions on designs

  • painting quick fast designs, handling figety or shy children

  • they already have professional clean products and equipment

  • they do this every day so accidents are extremely rare.

HOW DO I BOOK - Bookings are made via email.  Once we have agreed the details of your party (date, time, location, approximate number of faces to be painted) I will email you a Confirmation of Booking form for you to check and then payment of £20 deposit is required to secure the appointment which will be decucted on final payment. (Payment details will be issued on the Confirmation of Booking). If the deposit is not paid, I will accept other bookings made for that day.

WHY DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT - This secures our agreement for my services.  In order for me to run my business successfully I need to know that this is a confirmed booking, so if any other bookings come in for that time and you have paid your deposit, I will not accept that booking. The deposit is non returnable.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL - If you need to cancel your booking date, another date can be arranged within 1 year without having to pay another deposit.

HOW TO PAY - The remaining payment is due on the day of the party by either cash or BACS.  A receipt is available upon request.  For Corporate Events an invoice will be issued after the event.
